Music awards do more than celebrate artists. They create visibility, shape careers, influence audiences, strengthen industry recognition and help define the cultural value of music. Through the stories of the SAMAs and its “Friends of the SAMAs”, this session explores what awards can contribute to a healthy music ecosystem, from artist development and media exposure to international opportunities and industry credibility.
